  • Make your game look presentable
  • Present in a functional way
  • Make sure you yourself are presentable

Last night I participated in my first Publisher Speed Dating event as one of the potential game designer bachelors. I had signed up for the event, but I wasn’t sure if I was going to go through with it, because we are still looking into whether or not we want to go it alone, go through a publisher, or somewhere in between. My team convinced me to go through with it just to see what’s out there. So yes, my wife pushed me out into the dating world again. Luckily, I had enough on me to still be date-able (is that a word? “Datable?” “Datatable?” Continue reading Now Presenting…

Playtesting Essentials

As I’ve mentioned previously, March is going to be a huge month for playtesting for Koalatie Games. By the end of the month, I’m hoping to have at least Center Stage ready for blind playtesting and hopefully Icon as well.

For those new to the world of board game development, playtesting is the process of putting your unfinished game in front of others to play in hopes of gaining constructive feedback. True, there are good and bad playtesters, but you can still learn a lot from the bad ones.

So…I’ll leave you with this. My working prototype for Icon. Now you want to play, huh. Well, look to the right and you’ll see where I’ll be. Come join me!

March is almost upon us, and it will mark the 13th month of existence for Koalatie Games. Thirteen is a lucky number for me. By the end of March I will have attended three major conventions far from my local area. I will also have finished my latest prototypes. Hopefully, I’ll even procure some illustrators and graphic artists for my games. Continue reading Gearing Up for March

Google Drive!

HighlightsGoogle Drive

  • Start a New Email Address
  • Great for Collaborating
  • Calendar!
  • Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Keep!

If you haven’t been introduced to the world of Google Drive or something similar, consider me your welcoming party! In the real world, this is like your Microsoft Office suite in the cloud. In the gaming world, it functions similarly, and I’ve barely touched the surface on all that it can do for Koalatie Games. I’m sure many of you are far more versed in Google Drive’s capabilities than me, so please feel free to comment below on what you’ve found and what I can actually improve on.
